RLJ Media

Duhaney Park Red Sharks won the inaugural National Club Championship women’s (NCC) Grand Finals in a hard fought 20-0 win over St Bess Sledgehammers on Sunday, October 1 at the UWI Mona Bowl.

The champions, bringing with several national players, controlled the tempo of the game, and despite the Sledgehammers best efforts, they were unable to post any points. Try scorers for the winners were Ameir Kinlocke (2), Carole Kelly and Yahshener Briggs. Janelle Colle kicked two goals.

Winning Head Coach Jade Harrison commented:

t was good first season with a bunch of new talent coming forward for development. The ladies have grown as individuals and as a team. I am looking forward to solidifying the Sharks culture which is a winning one and this season's victory is a good platform to move forward from. Looking forward to continued growth and development from the competition as well as the current Sharks ladies.
