Rugby League Jamaica has announced that Suba City Auto, a leading provider of Subaru new and used parts and vehicles based in Portmore, will be front of shirt sponsors for the Jamaica Hurricanes Men’s 9s team down to contest the Naples 9s in Florida on May 20.

The team consists of domestic based Jamaican players who are either full internationals or on the pathway to becoming full internationals. The team narrowly missed out on a semi-final spot in the 2022 edition of the tournament and will look to go one better this year.

Peter Tapper, Hurricanes team manager said, “We are happy to have Suba City Auto support the team as front of shirt sponsor. Our full focus is to get into the Championship game, we know it will be difficult, but the squad has trained well, and we expect to give a good account.”

The men’s bracket will feature 8 teams divided into two groups. Hurricanes will face Carolina Storm, San Diego Barracudas and Miami Speed in their group. The other group features Jamaica Exodus, New York Roots, Southwest Florida Copperheads and Cleveland Rockers. The Women’s bracket will see four team compete, Carolina Blues, New York Roots, Carolina Storm, and Jamaica Reggae Warriors.
